Ari אַרְיֵה
The bold one. Ari makes the big, held sounds and cheers the first word you ever read.
Masa runs two tracks side by side every week — Judaica Studies and Nativ, our Hebrew ladder — so children grow in belonging and in reading at the same time.
The same rhythm every week, so children always know where they are — and it grows with them. Through Grade 1 it is one class with one teacher, with Hebrew woven in by ear. From Grade 2, Hebrew becomes its own hour with its own teacher.
180 minutes in all.
Each year the circle grows — from the child and the rhythm of the year, outward to values, practice, time, peoplehood, and Torah.
Every letter is a star. Every set becomes a constellation. A sound only becomes a star once a child can produce it on three different days, in three different activities — so progress means something.
Level 1, taught in Grade 2 · Read real pointed words with AH, EE, OH and OO.

The bold one. Ari makes the big, held sounds and cheers the first word you ever read.

The climber. Ya’ela sings sounds up the mountain and keeps a steady, patient pace.

The quiet light. Or holds the hush before a candle is lit, and lights each star you earn.
